She ages through the series and becomes a woman, and it’s really cool to see that. This season has that in spades. Just like a family really does. I’ve always joked around that Bay should actually give up being an artist and become a language translator, because she picks up languages like nobody’s business. Bay is looking at a future possibly without Emmett (Sean Berdy) and Daphne’s decision to pursue a medical degree pushes her harder than ever before. © 2011-2018 — PopCityLife Inc. SENIOR ENTERTAINMENT REPORTER | Tiffany covers events such as San Diego Comic-Con, WonderCon and press junkets, as well as covering events at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills. Mingo, though, is totally on Daphne’s side and I love Mingo for Daphne. It ends the way it starts, and it was very full-circle. Oh shoot. Daphne – and the show in its entirety – gave a voice to a really large group of people who were totally underrepresented onscreen. I loved it because even just his height alone gave me the feeling of, “I’m small, and you’re a big guy.” It was something to fight towards, which for me, gave me a very different feeling in the scene, which helped with what Owen is going through, trying to fight up and break ground with his father and get his message across. KATIE:  I’m so grateful for this project. Reading the script, I knew Elissa’s work and the way that she tells story and the way it ends up on the screen. But Vanessa and I, who are the switchsters, are voting switchsters. We have just giggles, on giggles, on giggles every single day at work. Tiffany is one of the newest members to the prestigious Television Critics Association and is happy to be able to share her passion for television shows with an even wider audience of fans and her fellow critics.. Is there anything you can tease about this upcoming season? Did you guys do a chemistry test, at all, or did you just click, right away? Other favorite TV shows. As SWITCHED AT BIRTH returns for Season 4B, Daphne Vasquez (Katie Leclerc) and Bay Kennish (Vanessa Marano) are at a crossroads as their lives are about to change again. Katie Lynn Leclerc (born November 6, 1986) is an American actress. These characters have really been through some shit, so you really want to be able to root for them to be together. Can we do it tomorrow? Katie Leclerc was born as Katie Lynn Leclerc on November 6, 1986 in San Antonio, Texas, United States. It’s really great when you get to build a character, but what’s so fun about it is the other people that you’re building characters with. We truly love each other and it’s really exciting that especially since it’s my first big project, and I really feel like I was embraced by this family and I was welcomed into this family. I think before that, she grew up maybe in a rough neighborhood, but she was never part of the violence. When I first started, I had been acting for about ten years, but I’d never been a series regular. That was very interesting to me. Katie Lynn Leclerc (born November 6, 1986 in San Antonio, Texas) is an American actress and producer. The idea of a needle coming toward my body freaks me out, and also the idea of something being permanent! So, I was a little familiar with it, and I’m more familiar now. And then of course, on a personal note, I loved everyone I got to work with, so I miss actually seeing them! We’ve been on walks and talked, since then. LECLERC: There was a chemistry test. It’s hard for me to hold still for an extended period of time! How has your approach playing Daphne changed throughout the seasons? Through the five seasons we’ve been on the air, she’s always been going up against that, trying to prove herself and prove that who she is is worthwhile and what she wants to do with her life is worthy of being taken seriously. I’ve purchased a home over the last four years. We can really see how Bay has changed over the last few months as well. I love that Daphne’s a little bit feisty. KATIE:  There’s a scene that I have not yet seen and I believe it starts the episode. We had a wonderful team around us to support that. I’m sure everybody can relate to that. by Tiffany Vogt. This season we’re dealing with Bay and her loss and Daphne’s really exploring all of the ways that she can be supportive to her family, in the ways that they have to her in the past. August 24, 2015. I really enjoy having scenes with him and just talking about films. Our editorial content is not influenced by any commissions we receive. I don’t like tattoos personally; I don’t even have my ears pierced! But when she unexpectedly ends up with a job at a Los Angeles art studio, she finds a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist, Owen Gentry (Ryan Cooper), who works and lives there, and together they must learn to navigate their pasts, in order to move forward with the lives that they want. RYAN COOPER: I totally agree! KATIE:  Well, you know, I think the first time that Daphne saw Regina with Eric was a challenge. KATIE:  I think there’s been some pretty large changes for her. Our little mini hiatus between Season 4A and Season 4B was only about six weeks long, so I was able to do a film during the off-time. We bounced around L.A. I felt like I could really trust each of the players and that everyone was going to bring their A-game and do justice to the fan base. Vanessa Marano: That’s a good question, actually. I actually think I Instagrammed a photo of this person, so I don’t think it’s a huge reveal, but Daphne has made some enemies over the past four seasons. I’m so incredibly blessed to be a part of something that is so impactful as well as creatively fulfilling. I am a Twin Peaks fan, so I was really stoked when they cast Sherilyn Fenn. KATIE:  I cannot tell you how happy I am that Daphne has a solid boyfriend. She’s there physically with her family, but also just sending good vibes and positivity towards them. I was on Gilmore Girls for two years, and then 10 years later, it came back. What was it like when you returned to set to film the rest of Season 4? She learned sign language rather quickly; she learned Mandarin rather quickly. It was wonderful. There’s a scene where there’s a fundraiser at Scratch, the town bar, and it’s western night. She’s never been one to back down, ever. I’m not in the scene, so it’s just Vanessa [Marano] and it’s the many versions of Bay and she’s having a mental crack. I actually hadn’t heard of go90.com, prior to the whole project. The big shocker is that it’s actually D.W.’s right? It’s very complicated. COOPER: When I did get to meet Katie, she just brings her A-game. I think she’s a little bit more rounded and she really has grown. I love it so much. That’s all you can expect from anyone. So for Daphne, having so much at stake and having her family really risk their livelihood for her, it puts her in a place where she is highly motivated for school and to become a doctor. So, Daphne’s really there to be as supportive to the family as she can be and I think that comes in many different ways.
