Superb cocktails, but we would have liked to have spent more time in the bar and felt a bit rushed/ tables were prioritised for those eating in the bar.Menu was great and the waiting staff all helpful and knowledgeable. When I chased up my confirmation for a booking I made over the website, I was advised they hadn’t received it - not sure how this could happen so be aware.I was called and offered a table in the bar restaurant; at first I declined but the lady ‘sold’ it to me - she advised it was probably better than the restaurant, you could actually sit at the tables properly - you could pull your chair under the table. Oblix West has been designed with traditional dining in mind; whereas Oblix East is more laid back, carrying an upbeat, livelier atmosphere. I have emailed the restaurant - twice; to date, no response. If you like sitting at bar tables, on stools; with music blaring and other customers constantly walking passed; if you like being told just about every vegetable dish would be a perfect to add to your order; if you like undercooked steak then this is the restaurant for you.Sadly, it isn’t for me.The price, in my opinion was extortionate - £142 for two ‘while you wait’ dishes (probably £10 in total), two steaks, two sides of chips and one bottle of prosecco.I really don’t mind paying top prices if the atmosphere, food, setting and service warrants it! more. Further more, the view was better.Certainly not the experience I had!We were taken to a table, more like a bar table with bar stools, we advised we weren’t happy with the table and give the young lady credit, she did see if there were any spaces in the actual restaurant, sadly not.The table was very close to the bar, so much so, when a gentleman having a drink removed his coat, he elbowed me, totally not his fault. The ‘background’ music was so loud, you couldn’t possibly have a proper conversation.‘Bar’ customers were most definitely walking between the tables, some were attempting to sit on recently vacated tables but were asked to move. The service was OK although we did get fed up of the waiter constantly trying to ‘upsell’, it was difficult to get through to him we didn’t want other side orders. The food itself was good but no better than any other steak restaurant.
