We would definitely go back. Probably the reason we keep coming back. The George is full of old furniture, paintings and fittings and has lots of character. November Madness. I have stayed in the hotel many times. A heady mix of locals and visitors and one hell of a lot of booze!!! This over the years has been our most visited hotel in the world thanks initially to them warmly welcoming my old friend Daisy The Dog about 10 years ago. The Jacuzzi bath was used every day by my boy who loved it, & we enjoyed the in room coffee from the provided espresso machine. This for those that haven't been is 3 days of bands playing on the terrace and in the bar. Had a lovely weekend at the "Barn" which is part of the hotel. The staff were excellent and very knowledgeable about the dishes. We actually shared a starter and main.I recommend this place to those looking for a tasty pub meal.Pleasant environment with a good atmosphere. Good atmosphere. So generous that we decided against a dessert. Fine if you like cold food!! On a very cold night the place was copied up with several blazing fires. Been to The George s few times down the years. The menu was fine but if you wanted two courses there is a note on the menu to say they would be delivered at the same time! Limited parking at the rear of the hotel, which we managed twice, but on street parking is available and didn't prove to be problematic. Brand new lochside garden bar with barbeque. The hotel has a mic of room types as well as a small cottage and converted old barn house attached. The ceremony was conducted in the conservatory followed by a beautiful setting for a wedding meal. Aside from this particular weekend which of course is going to be a bit full on, this hotel is a haven for those that want a peaceful romantic break away from the stresses of work and life, especially in the darker nights of winter when it really comes into it's own with log fires in the bar and the cosy rooms. Be prepared to carry your bags up several flights of stairs. We have just returned from another weekend of fun and nonsense at their annual Bluebell music festival. The meal was served in very good time and the atmosphere in the restaurant is always warm and friendly. It has been fantastically … It was lovely! I recently stayed at the George Hotel in Inveraray and i have to say it was an experience I would not like to repeat. The hotel was really busy but the breakfast team of Mhairi and Jade and the rest of the staff were really helpful to us and ensured we got a great table booked at night in the restaurant so we could enjoy the bands. There is a beer garden at the rear with a large canopy and at times can be noisy if you are in the first house rooms overlooking the Loch.. The George has always had an enviable reputation for ambience, friendliness and its cuisine. There wasn't a great deal of choice on the menu for anyone who doesn't like fish but all in all, the restraunt had a very nice decor and offered a very fast, friendly service. Had a really good lunch here with an old friend. We actually asked the waitress to pass our compliments to the chef. Pleasant, chilled out atmosphere. We did not find it a problem - just mentioning it. Bottle of Champagne in room on arrival Food allowance of £25pp . The only negative aspect of my review is the reception staff, they could do with cracking a smile and making some sort of eye contact when speaking to you. The owner Chris was a total legend and bought me and my partner a drink- totally uncalled for- and that just about sums up the hospitality of these marvellous people!
